Dear Parishioner,
I would like to introduce you to something new and
exciting at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church. GENERATIONS OF FAITH
is a new and unique approach that will allow us to work together and
combine our gifts and talents as we strive to enrich our spirituality, our
faith, and strengthen our church community.
Generations Of Faith enables the parish to become a
community of learning by creating lifelong faith formation that is
centered in the events of church life such as Liturgy, Sacraments, and
Scripture. It embraces all ages and generations. It promotes faith
growth at home through parish festivals and most importantly through
participation in church life. Our first festival will be in February
followed by one in April and May. You will choose one time, each month
that best fits into your schedule.
When you arrive at the festival we will share a meal
as a parish family. After we eat, we will then experience an exciting
overview of our gathering theme, next we will break out into groups, all
on the same theme, finally we will all come together to share what we have
learned and conclude with prayer and receive home kits to continue
Generations Of Faith in your home. All this in about the time it takes to
watch a movie.
Every parish meeting and every liturgy will reflect
our focus for that particular month. We will learn what the event is
about, why it is important to us, and how to participate in it and live
its meaning in our lives as Catholics.
