Adult
Confirmation
For adults who have been baptized and received Eucharist, we offer
preparation for the Rite of Confirmation. Candidates must first schedule
an interview with the coordinator Nick Sherg, then attend a series of
preparation classes. The Bishop administers the sacrament during the
Easter season, but applicants for confirmation are encouraged to
pre-register as soon as possible. For more information about sacrament

Becoming
Catholic
RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults)
The RCIA offers an easy and comprehensive process for adults seeking
initiation into the Catholic Church. The process consists of four easy
steps in which adults can learn more about the Gospel values of Jesus
Christ and the Catholic tradition. Inquiry classes meet the first and
third Wednesdays of the month from 7:30-9:00 p.m. Persons are asked to
schedule an appointment with the director before starting classes. We are also in need of RCIA
sponsors
to serve as guides and companions for adults who are becoming catholic.

Christian
Initiation for Children
Our faith community offers a wonderful program for families with
non-Catholic children desiring initiation into the Catholic Church. The
program offers sacrament preparation including opportunities for
children to learn about the Christian way of life and our Catholic faith
while preparing for the Rite of Christian Initiation at the Easter
vigil. Families interested in
Christian Initiation for their children can contact the Children/Family
Faith Formation office for information regarding this process. Classes
are held Sunday mornings (October-April) during the 8:45 a.m. Mass. Your
children will enjoy this memorable journey.

Matrimony
(Weddings)
Getting married is one of the
most significant events of your life. St. Martin's clergy and
wedding coordinators will help you prepare for Holy Matrimony.
First, the engaged couple will meet with the priest or deacon who will
preside over their ceremony. Then, you will be invited to attend a
wedding information meeting and an engaged encounter retreat.
Coordinators provide a tour of the facilities, and will sit down with
you to discuss information regarding the florist, photographer,
videographer, music, altar servers and other important details.
Our wedding coordinator will facilitate
your wedding rehearsal and will be there before the actual ceremony to
ensure that the details are in order. If
you are interested in speaking with a priest and/or wedding coordinator
about getting marriage at St. Martin de Porres Church, please contact us
to schedule an appointment.

Youth
Confirmation
Confirmation is a sacrament in
which those who have been baptized receive the fullness of the Holy
Spirit, whom the Lord sent upon His Apostles at Pentecost. It is a
sacrament that celebrates God's special strengths and gifts in those who
have been baptized.
During the two-year sacrament
preparation process, youth candidates for the sacrament of Confirmation
will explore topics related to our Catholic faith such as the
sacraments, gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit, the Commandments and
Beatitudes, social justice, morality and decision making, dating and
marriage, and discipleship. In addition, candidates will experience full
participation in the sacramental life of the Church and complete parish
and Christian service projects.
Confirmation also is a parish community
celebration. It provides an opportunity for members of the parish family
to recommit to their baptismal promises and celebrate the renewal of the
Spirit's presence in their midst and the Holy Spirit among them.
For more information about preparation
for the sacrament of Confirmation, please contact the Youth Ministries
office.
