This ministry gives parishioners the opportunity to experience first hand the realities & struggles of life on Skid Row, while providing food and clothing for over 300 men, women and children. The opportunity to serve is an experience that an entire family can participate in by giving everyone a compassionate perspective. Volunteers of all ages are welcome as they collect donations of clothes, shoes, blankets and basic essentials. They meet approximately every 6 weeks in the Parish Hall at 10:00 AM on Saturday mornings to make lunches, organize, fold and sort items that have been collected. The following morning (Sunday) they meet at the Parish Hall at 7:00 AMto caravan/carpool down to Los Angeles’ skid row to distribute donations. This opportunity provides a chance to step forward and be a part of something special as the experience makes members realize through gratitude the blessings God has bestowed upon them.
